Every day, Woodmen of the World members make a difference by participating in one of our many fraternal activities. We remain committed to strengthening our communities and continuously look for ways to help others in need. Our never-ending fraternal spirit is a big part of what makes us Woodmen of the World, and it helps set us apart from other companies.
Some of our most active lodges have inspiring stories to tell about their experiences. Click on the lodges below to learn more.
Lodge 46 is busy supporting community needs and providing programs geared toward youth. Recent activities included an event at Rochelle Middle School for at-risk teens, an event at the Woodmen Community Center for science and technology teachers promoting the new Starlab mobile planetarium, and an In Honor and Remembrance ceremony at a local high school. Lodge members also took a survey to help determine future activities and programs.
About 161 people attended Lodge 72's Family Fun Day on July 21 at Splash Kingdom Water Park. Members wanted to build camaraderie at the event, and they are pleased with the outcome. The difference was noticeable at a recent lodge meeting because it had double the attendance of the previous one. In addition, Representatives told members that more than 35 appointments were set from that event's referrals. Plans are under way to make Family Fun Day an annual event.
Members of Lodge 406 enjoy holding food drives several times a year for the Panama City Rescue Mission. Partnering with the Winn Dixie grocery store enables members to strike up conversations with shoppers about Woodmen of the World as the lodge gathers food for the mission. On Oct. 27, Lodge 406 members rounded up more than a truck full of food for the mission and also donated cash.
