Michael C. Shealy
Michael C. Shealy of Lexington, SC, was elected to the Board of Directors of Woodmen of the World/Omaha Woodmen Life Insurance Society as Director, effective Nov. 1, 2009. He has been employed with Carroll’s Electric Service, Inc. since 1979, where he is currently the President and Co-Owner.
Shealy has been a lifelong Woodmen of the World member and an active member of Oak Grove Lodge 273 since 1977, where he currently holds the position of Trustee. He has served in every lodge office, including President from 1995-2000. He also serves on the Nominating, Building, Property, and Fund-raising committees for the lodge.
As a member of the South Carolina Jurisdiction, he has held several positions, including President. He serves on the South Carolina Woodmen of the World Youth Camp Board of Directors, Fraternal Services Committee and the Nominating Committee, which he chaired for two years. Shealy was appointed to the National Legislative Committee from 2001-2005. He has served on the National Judiciary Committee since 2005 and was appointed Chairman in 2009. He actively serves with the South Carolina Fraternal Alliance, where he has held the offices of Second Vice President and Vice President, and in 1998, he served as President.
An active member of his community, Shealy is a Past Chairman of the Columbia Electrical Council and has served on the Midlands Technical College Board of Advisors for more than 10 years. He was appointed to the Lexington County Building Code Board of Appeals by the Lexington County Council in 2004, and is a member of the Indian Waters Council’s Palmetto Gold Club for the Boy Scouts of America.
Shealy is a recipient of the Woodmen of the World Good Neighbor Award, Fraternal Spirit Award and Woodmen Meritorious Service Citation Award, and was elected South Carolina’s Fraternalist of the Year in 2006.
Shealy is the son of retired National Director J. Carroll Shealy.
