2008 Annual Report for Woodmen of the WorldOmaha, Neb. — Woodmen of the World's 2008 financial performance included a record setting gross revenue of $1.26 billion and a net gain before member dividends of $199.6 million. Even with the current economic and financial climate Woodmen of the World remains strong with $111 of assets for every $100 of liabilities.

"2008 was a good year for Woodmen of the World. In fact, it was a record year in terms of premium income. We remain in a strong financial position, thanks to our conservative investment philosophy, and the continued trust from our valued members," said Danny Cummins, President and CEO of Woodmen of the World.
Investment income reached $412 million, and life insurance in force exceeded $34.7 billion. Woodmen of the World also had a record setting year with premium income from life insurance and annuity products exceeding $820 million, up from $517 million the previous year.

The company provided more than $490 million in benefit payments to members and their beneficiaries and returned more than $130 million in member dividends.
