Fraternal Benefits1 for Members
With Woodmen of the World, you're not just a "policy holder" you're a member, and you deserve benefits and activities exclusive to Woodmen of the World.
Below are just some of the non-contractual fraternal benefits available to Woodmen of the World members:
- Disaster Relief – Woodmen of the World members who sustain significant damage to their homes as a direct result of a natural disaster may be eligible for assistance through the Disaster Relief Benefit. The benefit will be equal to one percent of the damage to their primary residence. The residence must have sustained at least $10,000 in damage, and the maximum benefit is $500 per household. Qualifying disasters include hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, wild fires and forest fires. Other conditions and limitation apply.
- Woodmen Care – After one year of good-standing membership, Woodmen of the World offers a $1,000 benefit should you be diagnosed as having one of the following diseases: Lung Cancer, Leukemia, Brain Tumor, Tuberculosis, Malignant Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma or Hodgkin's Disease.
- Youth Program, including Summer Camp – Woodmen of the World's century-old youth program offers members, ages 8 through 15, educational and social activities and an annual summer camp experience. Adult members serve as leaders and mentors to our most valuable asset – our future leaders. Find out more information about youth camps.
- Senior Camp – Offered in most areas, this program for seniors offers opportunities for fellowship, fun and relaxation in an outdoor environment. Find out more information about senior camps.
- Orphan's Care – Orphaned children of qualified members can receive monthly benefit payments. Plus, additional funds are available to orphans attending college or vocational training.
- Newborn Benefit – Qualified 100 percent Woodmen of the World families can receive a $10,000 fraternal benefit if their newborn infant dies between the ages of 48 hours and six months. During that same period, a $10,000 guaranteed-issue life insurance certificate can be purchased at standard rates, regardless of the baby's health.
- Wfm – As a Woodmen of the World member you will receive Wfm (Woodmen of the World Fraternal Magazine), the organization's quarterly magazine. Formerly called Woodmen magazine, the publication was redesigned and renamed Wfm in April 2006. Each issue of Wfm contains features on health, fitness, personal finance, consumer news, history and the fraternal activities of members and lodges.
- Woodmen of the World Prescription Drug Discount Card2 – The no-cost prescription drug discount card offers members the lowest price available on drugs purchased through the ScriptSave network of pharmacies. In 2008, nearly 34,000 prescriptions were filled by members using their Woodmen of the World Prescription Discount Card, at a savings of $368,628 over normal retail pricing. This represented an average of $14.65 per prescription. Since the program began in February, 2000, Woodmen of the World members have saved more than $10 million.
