Dr. James W. Bosler III
Dr. James W. Bosler III of Louisville, KY, was elected to the Board of Directors of Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society in July 2005. He was named a Director at the 2005 National Convention, which was held in Omaha, NE.
Dr. Bosler has been a WoodmenLife member since birth. He is Past President of Chapter 14 in Louisville, KY, and is a Past President of the Kentucky Jurisdiction. Dr. Bosler was elected to the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Fraternal Congress in October 2003. He was appointed to serve on the National Fraternal Committee from 2003 until 2005, when he was elected to the Board of Directors.
Dr. Bosler has a notable history of service to WoodmenLife and to his community. He earned WoodmenLife’s National Top 10 Youth Leadership Award in 1979 and was named WoodmenLife’s National Fraternalist of the year in 2004. He has served as Chief Medical Officer at the Bluegrass Woodmen Youth Camp in Lexington, KY. He serves as a Lifetime Member of the National Ski Patrol, and at Eastern High School as their Team Physician. In addition, Dr. Bosler (a former Eagle Scout and life member of the National Eagle Scout Association) is an adult leader for Boy Scouts of America. He has volunteered as a tournament doctor for the Professional Golf Association (PGA) and with the Louisville Genealogical Society.
Dr. Bosler earned his degree in chemistry and was a varsity football letterman at the University of Louisville. Dr. Bosler then attended medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, graduating with an M.D. in 1989. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville and Affiliated Hospitals. He has been practicing internal medicine since 1992 and is a senior partner within his private practice of Drs. Ciliberti, Wijangco & Bosler, P.S.C., in Louisville, KY.
Dr. Bosler has been certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and has received many distinguished medical awards in the field of medicine. He has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association yearly since 2006, and each year since 2007 has been named to the list of “America’s Top Physicians” by the Consumers’ Research Council of America. He is a member of local, state and national medical organizations, and a member of the American College of Physicians, as well as the American College of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Bosler uses his medical experience for a variety of activities, including service as an FAA-designated Senior Aviation Medical Examiner and is a licensed private pilot. He has served in areas of Aviation Accident Scene Resources, Medical Bioterrorism Response, Medical Informatics, and Illegal Drug Abuse Physician Education. In addition, Dr. Bosler is chairman or serves on various medical committees promoting public and community outreach, and is a member of the Medical Ethics Committee and the Medical Society Athletic Committee. He is a volunteer consultant for many drug company advisory boards and seminars, and is a liaison to foster improved accessibility and affordability of medicines for the public.
Dr. Bosler enjoys photography, snow skiing, aviation, computer technology, sports, and fitness activities. His father, James Bosler II, is a retired WoodmenLife Director, and his mother, the late Mary Etta Bosler, was elected WoodmenLife's first female Jurisdictional President (of Kentucky) in 1965.
