Ellis Named Woodmen of the World VP and General Counsel

Omaha, Neb. – Woodmen of the World/Omaha Woodmen Life Insurance Society recently announced that Matthew Ellis was appointed Vice President and General Counsel.
Ellis began his career with Woodmen of the World in 2006 and previously served as Director and Assistant General Counsel. As the head of Woodmen of the World’s legal division, Ellis is responsible for the organization and coordination of all legal efforts of the company, including litigation, corporate matters, compliance, and risk management. He is a member of Woodmen of the World Omaha Lodge 706.
Ellis has served as a faculty member at Creighton University’s College of Business Administration for the past six years and brings to this position a diverse legal perspective, strong business acumen and the ability to collaborate with his customers.
Ellis graduated from CatholicUniversityin Washington, D.C.in 1994, and earned a master of business administration (MBA) degree in 1996 and law degree in 1997 from CreightonUniversityin Omaha. Ellis holds Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) series 7 and 66 licenses.
