Michael C. Shealy of Lexington, SC, was elected to the National Board of Directors of WoodmenLife in 2009. He currently serves on the Governance Committee and as Chairman of the Fraternal Committee. Shealy served on the National Legislative Committee from 2001 to 2005 and the National Judiciary Committee from 2005 to 2009, serving as Chairman in 2009.
He has been a lifelong WoodmenLife member and an active member of Chapter 273 in West Columbia, SC, since 1977. Shealy has served in every chapter office, including President from 1995 to 2000. He currently serves as Chapter Secretary.
As a member of the South Carolina Jurisdiction, Shealy has held several positions, including President. He currently serves on the South Carolina Fraternal Activities Board of Directors.
An active member of his community, Shealy is a Past Chairman and current Secretary of the Columbia Electrical Council and has served on the Midlands Technical College Board of Advisors.
He is a recipient of the WoodmenLife Good Neighbor Award, Fraternal Spirit Award and Meritorious Service Citation Award, and was elected South Carolina’s Fraternalist of the Year in 2006.
Shealy is the son of retired National Director J. Carroll Shealy. He and his wife, Liz, have two children and are members of Lexington Baptist Church.
